Mision' San Francisco Javier, BCS. 2001
I have replaced the art/photography galleries with several different ones that reflect photos I have taken of my family gatherings at camp on the Allegany River and also my high school classmates from Randolph Central High School’s class of ‘78. These all span a period of a couple decades.
Fine art work (that will be presented here) spans from 1972 to the present. I enjoy traditional film and silver gelatin printing in the darkroom, but will use any type of camera (including an iPhone) to record a scene. Images found here have been produced using either scanned negatives, digital originals, or scanned prints. All will be available as limited edition digital prints made on matte rag paper with Epson C3 pigment inks. Some prints will be offered as silver gelatin fiber-based B&W.
When I was quite young, I would "borrow" my mother's Kodak TLR camera and sneak a few photos onto her film or worse yet, use up her precious color Polaroid film packs. Her solution was to get me my own camera, a Polaroid Swinger. Though it was a fine gift, affording the expensive B&W film as a 10 year old did not allow me much room for experimentation. Later in high school, I discovered that I was the only student whose matte-board pinhole camera project produced acceptable images. My self portrait photo from that project is here in the self portrait gallery.
I had to wait until college to pick up my first adjustable 35mm camera and finally get serious.
